His breakthrough came in 1978 with the classic “Met de vlam in de pijp,” followed by hits like “Containersong,” “Kilometervreters,” and “Een sneeuwwitte bruidsjurk.” His authentic songs, filled with stories from the road and heartfelt lyrics, still hit home at festivals, fairs, and venues.
