Rock im Park

Rock im Park is an annual music festival in Nuremberg. It is a parallel festival with Rock am Ring. Most of the bands that perform at Rock am Ring can also be seen at Rock im Park. In 1993 the first edition of Rock im Park took place. At the time under the name Rock in Wien or Rock in Vienna, because the festival took place in Vienna. a year later the rock festival took place in Munich. In 1994 it continued under the name Rock in Riem because of its location at the former Munich-Riem Airport. Rock im Park has had several locations. For example, they moved to the Max-Morlock Stadium, the Zeppelinfeld of the Reichsparteitagsgelände and had to move to the Luitpoldhain park for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. As with Rock am Ring, several well-known bands/artists perform. For example, Limp Bizkit, Van Halen, The Pretenders, Robbie Williams, Iron Maiden, Evanescence, Linkin Park and Tool have once performed at the returning music festival.
