Hukkelfukkers is a Belgian band from the Kempen region that proudly brings the Lichtaart dialect to the stage. What started with Bor Van Soom and Pieter De Busser, armed with a guitar and a desire to tell real stories, evolved into a powerful live band with their own self-proclaimed genre: “vetzakkenrock.”
No sugary love songs here — just raw stories about real life. About everyday struggles, village tales, petty theft, sauce on your lips and social welfare — all sung in their local dialect. From the very beginning, they stood out with two drummers (Leendert Embrechts and Tim Mertens), later joined by guitarist Jef Imants. That unique line-up creates a massive and raw live sound.
In 2008, they independently released their debut album “12 mislukkers” (“12 failures”), and their live reputation has only grown since. Their music refuses to fit into one box: from blues to rock, folk to metal, even waltz and charleston influences sneak in. Anything goes, as long as it grooves, grinds and stays true to their roots.
