Berget Lewis is a Dutch singer. She is also a member of the occasional formation Ladies of Soul.
She was born in Amsterdam from Surinamese parents. She started as an a cappella singer at a young age and toured the United States with a gospel choir in 1986. Lewis started her professional singing career as a backing singer with Total Touch and was part of Candy Dulfer's Funky Stuff and Ruth's band. Jacott. Later she performed in the theater show of Angela Groothuizen and Julya Lo'ko (2004) and the Christmas show of Karin Bloemen. In 1998 she founded The Berget Lewis Gospel Train. Lewis participated in the TROS program The best singers in the Netherlands in 2012. She received all the votes in the final, except her own, and therefore came in first place. On November 4, 2013, her second studio album, named after herself, became available on iTunes. In 2014 she played the role of 'Effie White' in the musical Dreamgirls.
