Chanson 2 – Route du Soleil
An ode to French classics
Incroyable! That’s the best way to describe the success of Chanson. Tens of thousands of people have taken this special show—and the performing artists—to their hearts. So, there will be a sequel! Under the title “Chanson 2 – Route du Soleil,” the company treats the audience to a musical journey filled with sunshine, freedom, and a healthy dose of nostalgia. From the 1950s to the present day, the artists perform the greatest French classics.
Public interest in Chanson (and thus in this iconic musical genre) is immense. The first edition reserved a starring role for the hits of Édith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, and Jacques Brel. But there’s more! And that’s precisely why the creative team behind the theater concert is now developing a completely new show titled “Chanson 2 – Route du Soleil.” It is truly a musical journey back in time. Along the way, you’ll hear chansons by artists such as Julien Clerc, Françoise Hardy, Michel Fugain, Dalida, Gérard Lenorman, Michel Sardou, and France Gall. The concert is thus once again a celebration of recognition. It’s not just classics from the distant past that make an appearance. More recent years also play a prominent role. Think of Barbara Pravi’s melancholic “Voilà,” but also Stromae’s many mega-hits, for example. The performance will once again feature a large live orchestra in collaboration with gifted vocalists who are among the absolute best in their field.
A Love for the Genre
It’s now clear that audiences still love this musical genre. The first edition of Chanson sold out night after night. A high level of public interest is expected for the second edition as well, so booking early is advisable. The creative process for the show is in full swing under the direction of Marc Forno and his talented team. A new script is being written, auditions are underway, and the most beautiful songs are being selected. Forno promises the audience another delightful musical evening that will leave an unforgettable impression on fans of this genre.
These are not empty words. The director has already proven that he understands the art of bringing both the French atmosphere and the power of the repertoire to life in an impressive way—authentically and with respect for this special repertoire. The audience feels the love for the songs in every note sung during the concert. It will be no different during “Chanson 2 – Route du Soleil.” See you soon!
