Christel de Laat is een Brabantse comédienne uit Schijndel. Halverwege de jaren 90 begon ze haar carrière als het typetje Nel bij een Brabantse Feesterij, waarvan ze vier jaar lang het gezicht werd. In die periode had ze een programma bij Omroep Brabant genaamd Da's Nel. Al snel is de Feesterij te klein voor Christel en in 2000 gaat ze als zelfstandige aan de slag.
Aanvankelijk speelt ze typetjes op bedrijfsfeesten. Na verloop van tijd is ze niet alleen presentator, dagvoorzitter en Babs maar het gezicht van Omroep Brabant waar ze succesvolle TV programma's heeft en elke zaterdag op de radio te beluisteren is met haar programma 'GRAAT & DE LAAT'. Mensen kennen haar ook van 'TOREN C' waar ze vaak bij de koffieautomaat haar mannetje staat.
