Eat Static stands as one of the true pioneers of the UK electronic underground. Founded in the late 1980s by Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton, both former members of the legendary psychedelic rock band Ozric Tentacles, the project evolved into one of Britain's first live techno acts. For more than three decades, Eat Static has pushed boundaries with a genre-defying blend of techno, trance, breakbeats, ambient and psychedelic electronica.
Through landmark releases such as Abduction, Crash and Burn and In the Nude, Eat Static earned cult status within the global psytrance and rave communities. Their music is renowned for its futuristic soundscapes, extraterrestrial themes, inventive production techniques and fearless exploration of electronic music beyond genre limitations.
Over the years, Eat Static has performed hundreds of shows and headlined festivals and events around the world, from the legendary Megadog nights to Glastonbury and countless international psytrance gatherings. Today, founder Merv Pepler continues the project as a unique live experience where old-school rave, psychedelic trance and futuristic electronics collide.
