Goldband

After storming into the music industry out of nowhere in 2019, the Hague pop sensation Goldband now seems to have established itself seriously in the Dutch and Belgian music landscape. After two EPs, cult hits such as Mijn Stad and Witte Was and especially a strong live reputation, the debut album Affordable Romanticism was released in 2021. With this genre-transcending album, the three former plasterers Boaz Kok, Karel Gerlach and Milo Driessen, in collaboration with producer Wieger Hoogendorp, have proven to be a serious pop act that cannot easily be pigeonholed. With influences from the 1980s Nederpop and disco, but also trance and gabber, Goldband has created its own sound that is especially effective live on stage. As a result, the band managed to sell out the major halls in the Benelux in no time with their very first tour. With millions of streams per month, two 3FM awards ('Best Group' and 'Best Album'), 3 songs in the top 10 of the 3voor12 Song of the Year 2021. In 2023, the group will receive the Popprijs 2022 during Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen .
