Holiday on Ice is an ice show that combines classic figure skating with modern show elements. They tour worldwide with about six shows each year. Since its premiere in 1943 in Toledo, Ohio (USA), Holiday on Ice has received more than 327 million visitors to its various shows. This makes Holiday on Ice the most visited ice show in the world. For this reason, Holiday on Ice is listed as the most visited ice show in the world in the Guinness World of Records. Holiday on Ice can also be described as the successful ice show of all time! Holiday on Ice is from Stage Entertainment Touring Productions, a subsidiary of Stage Entertainment.
Holiday on Ice began as a small show in a hotel in Toledo, Ohio in 1943. Then the show toured for a week over the Christmas holiday. The name Holiday on Ice is therefore also derived from this. From 1940, the mobile ice shows were possible because transportable cooling systems were developed.
In a short time the shows could be seen in the United States and in Central and South America. From 1950, the show performed in numerous European countries, including Belgium, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Spain.
In 1959, Holiday on Ice was first recorded as a Western project in the former Soviet Union. In the following years, the show was seen in the other Eastern European countries.
