Biography - Joanne Telesford
Joanne kwam al op zeer jonge leeftijd in aanraking met gospelmuziek. In 1998 was de toen Joop van den Ende Theaterproducties opzoek naar een ervaren gospelzangeres voor de musical Fame. Joanne deed auditie en werd aangenomen voor de rol van Miss Sherman. Ze speelde onder andere de hoofdrol van Kala in Tarzan, Sarabi en cover Shenzi in The Lion King en had een leading part in the theatershow The Soul of Motown. Verder speelde ze in de hitmusical Hairspray, Love me Tender en musical Daddy Cool.
Ze was te zien in de dansmusical Snow White & 7 Breakers, speelde Darlene in The Color Purple en werd in 2016 genomineerd voor de hoofdrol van Winnie Mandela in de musical Amandla Mandela!
Naast musicals doet ze ook veel nasynchronisatie voor games en tekenfilms. Ook is te ze horen in verschillende voice-overs voor radio- en tv commercials, bedrijfsfilms en voicemails.
