‘Ik neem jou mee’ is a theatre concert in which Leonie Meijer treats the audience to gems of Dutch-language music, mixing modern influences with the necessary nostalgia. For this, she has asked guitarist Michiel Stekelenburg to accompany her on this musical journey.
With the song ‘Ik neem jou mee’, Leonie appeared on Eva Jinek’s show, on the recommendation of Huub Stapel. At this crossroads, everything came together; the essence of making music, the reason why Leonie does what she does: singing and playing to comfort and to connect with people in a world that, on the surface, seems to be becoming increasingly harsh. But is this really the case? Through personal stories, she will touch upon these kinds of subjects.
The core of this song program lies in playing the songs that have inspired Leonie throughout her life: from Bløf to Ramses Shaffy and S10, but Toon Hermans also makes an appearance.
