De Grote Prijs van Nederland, met Mentos als toegewijde hoofdsponsor, is de oudste onafhankelijke muziekcompetitie voor live acts. Sinds 1983 krijgt opkomend muzikaal talent de kans om zich verder te ontwikkelen. Veel oud-winnaars en deelnemers als Typhoon, Eefje de Visser, Junkie XL en Brainpower zijn inmiddels gevestigde namen in de muziekindustrie. In 2024 ging Jaïr Faria er met de winst vandoor.
