Novastar

Novastar is a Belgian rock band led by Dutch-born singer-songwriter and guitarist/pianist Joost Zweegers. In 1996, the band won Humo’s Rock Rally. Their debut album followed four years later, in 2000, and was a major success. It reached number 1 in the Ultratop chart in Flanders and earned the band a platinum record. The album was also awarded Best Album at both the Zamu Music Awards and the TMF Awards. Joost initially planned to record his second album in the United States, but became dissatisfied with the pressure to keep producing hits and returned to Belgium. He then teamed up with Belgian artist Ozark Henry, and together they wrote the songs for Novastar’s second album, Another Lonely Soul, released in 2004. In the years that followed, he released several more albums, including Holler and Shout in 2021 and The Best Is Yet To Come in 2024.
