From the sparkling wonder of 'Alice in Wonderland' to the festive magic of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', from the melancholic lyricism of 'Edward Scissorhands' to the eccentric genius of 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory': this concert immerses you in the soundscapes that have shaped Burton’s unique cinematic universe.
At the heart of the performance is the music of Danny Elfman, Burton’s longtime collaborator and one of the most distinctive film composers of our time. Elfman’s music blends playfulness with menace and tenderness with grandeur—a perfect reflection of Burton’s visual imagination.
In addition to Elfman’s work, the program features unforgettable moments from 'Corpse Bride', the cult classic 'Beetlejuice', the gothic grandeur of 'Batman', and the razor-sharp drama of 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'.
The Mystery Ensemble brings Burton’s worlds to life through unique arrangements. Expect captivating vocals, bold instrumental textures, and an atmosphere that shifts in an instant—from macabre to magical, from intimate to epic.
This is not merely a film music concert; it is a theatrical live experience. The concert’s mysterious magic arises from the interplay between the musicians, the surrounding architecture, the lighting, and the music itself. Feel as though you are right in the middle of a Tim Burton film!
