Origins, love, and fatherhood. After a difficult childhood in a deprived city, Kevin is thrust into adult life, where he confronts himself and society. In this cabaret-slash-book performance, Kevin takes you from Ninove to Ghent, from Army of Hardcore in “den otto” to learning how to ferment in the picking forest. His poems make poetry no longer dull and abstract, but gripping and entertaining. This is a must-see for anyone who loves language and humor.
The poetry of Kevin Amse (Ninove, 1989) has been awarded both on and off stage. This performance coincides with his debut Een huis omringd (Poëziecentrum, 2026). In Een huis omringd, vulnerability and humor also go hand in hand. At times, pencils are wetted in the voting booth; at others, the light fades behind a clenched fist.
