In his second cabaret show, Jules explores his identity full of contradictions. He is a country boy in the city and vice versa. Super ambitious and yet yearning for simplicity and peace. A ‘football hooligan’ in the cultural sector. Assertive and hesitant. And now, suddenly, he is also in his thirties: not young anymore, although emotionally he doesn't belong with the grown-ups yet either. ‘Knegsel-Zuid’ is about the fear of falling between two stools, but it is also an ode to his Brabant roots. Because he is proud of them. For this show, he collaborated with friend and songwriter JW Roy.
Jules Keeris (Knegsel, 1993) is a comedian, actor, and director. In 2018, he graduated (cum laude) from the Academy for Theatre in Tilburg. He toured successfully with his first show ‘De Uitverkorenen’ and won prizes and reached the finals at various cabaret festivals. In addition to his solo work, he directs theatre productions and fellow comedians, acts in stage performances and TV commercials, and tours the country with the musical theatre company ‘De Italianen’. Jules’ work is comedic, often has an absurd edge, and is *always* packed with fun and compassion for his fellow man. His performances feel like a warm bath, in which there is *plenty* of laughter.
