What if I told you that the Sandman really exists? However, he has forgotten who he is, and because he no longer reads stories, the fairy tale characters don't know who they are either. Tina, Tessa, and Tom discover this by chance and decide to lend the Sandman and the fairy tale world a hand.
The three teenagers get lost in the woods and are warned by strange characters about Old Sandman and his helper Zander, who live in a dilapidated hut. They don't like nosy onlookers. When they examine the books standing by the hut, they turn out to be unreadable in a strange language. Until they discover that the books can be read with special glasses. When they read a passage, the fairy tale characters fall back into their original roles. The 3 teenagers make the connection to the Sandman and discover that he has forgotten who he is. Because people no longer read fairy tales and only want to play video games, he has slowly declined, until he is only known as the hermit Old Sandman. Once Klaas regains his memory, he sets to work with Zander, who can influence time, to reread all the books and restore the fairytale world.
