The Haarlem singer-songwriter, Alain Clark, has been busy with music since he was nine years old. In his early years, Alain releases Dutch-language songs, but a few years later he starts writing in English. His first single 'Delicious' was released in 2004. That same year, he released several singles that appear on his debut album called 'Alain Clark'. The song 'Father And Friend', which he sang with his father Dane Clark in 2007, is his breakthrough with the general public.
In the same year his English-language album, Live It Out, is released. With his first single, 'This Ain't Gonna Work', he hit the mark. The single reached number three and the album went double platinum. The album was notable for the hit ''Father And Friend'' with which it spent 30 weeks in the Dutch Top 40. For this song he wins a 3FM Award in the Best Single category. He also wins an award for Best Newcomer and in the Best Singer category. After the success in his own country, Clark moves to Great Britain where the single is voted Single of the Week by BBC Radio 2.
In 2018, Alain participated in the television program Beste Zangers. He also appeared in the parody program De TV Kantine in 2019 and played the role of RuPaul and in 2020 as Pierre Hooijdonk. In 2021, Clark voiced Chief Benja for the movie Raya and the Last Dragon.
