Broederliefde consists of childhood friends Emms, Jerr, Sjaf, Mella and Edson, who met in the Rotterdam neighbourhood of Spangen. What started as a group of friends grew into one of the Netherlands’ most successful acts, with a distinctive blend of hip-hop, pop and Caribbean influences.
Their major breakthrough came with Hard Work Pays Off 2, featuring hits such as ‘Jungle’, ‘Mi No Lob’ and ‘Ik Was Al Binnen’ with Frenna. The album spent an impressive fourteen weeks at number one, setting a Dutch record. Since then, Broederliefde has continued to build an impressive catalogue of gold and platinum releases, sold-out shows and collaborations with artists across different genres.
Years after their breakthrough, the group continues to evolve. With De Ene Hand Wast De Ander, Broederliefde once again reached number one in the Dutch Album Top 100 in 2025. Their mix of melodic hooks, energetic beats and the close chemistry between the five members remains at the heart of a sound that works just as well on streaming platforms as it does live.
