Tribute to French chanson returns to theatres in 2026!

Theatre concert Chanson was a resounding success last season. From April 2026, this ode to French chanson will once again be performed in a selection of theatres.

On an atmospherically lit stage, top vocalists and musicians pay a dazzling tribute to chanson. Filip Jordens (as Jacques Brel), Dan Menasche (Charles Aznavour), Janneke Elisabeth (Édith Piaf) and presenter-director Marc Forno give voice to the melancholy, power and poetry of iconic chansons such as Ne me quitte pas, La Bohème, Milord, Amsterdam and La vie en rose.

For a few hours, the theatre hall is transformed into the legendary Parisian L'Olympia. Just imagine the street lamps, fountains and elegant cast-iron chairs. Top vocalists Janneke Elisabeth, Filip Jordens and Dan Menasche convincingly step into the shoes of the French superstars. All the chansons are performed in their original versions by an impressive ensemble of nineteen musicians led by Hans Voerman, including an accordionist, wind instruments, strings and piano accompaniment by Bernd van den Bos (Stars on Stage, among others).

The charming director/entertainer Marc Forno, former dancer at Folies Bergère, takes you on a lively city walk through Paris. He playfully connects the songs with personal anecdotes and his love for the French repertoire. In a cinematic collage of black-and-white images, he recounts a piece of French music history. Classics that have been favourites for generations, brought back to life in a powerful theatre production. Guaranteed goosebumps, cheerful energy and... maybe even a tear of emotion?
