Kaan, the leader singer of the band and guitarist, lived in Seattle for a while in the early 1990s. He was inspired by all the grunge band there and took this inspiration back to Turkey. When writing songs for the band, he combined his Turkish roots with his love for grunge.
Along with many other Turkish rock bands, Duman challenges the stereotype of what Turkish music is. The band often discusses love, relationships, breakups and parties. Whether you are looking for words to get over your heartbreak or to enjoy an evening with your friends, Duman has you covered.
