EELS is an American alternative rock band that released its debut album Beautiful Freak in 1996. With 'Novocaine For The Soul' EELS scored a hit in the Netherlands.
In 1992 he signs a contract with record company Polydor, which releases his albums A Man Called (E) and Broken Toy Shop. While E is working on his solo album, he meets the musician Tommy Walter. The band EELS is founded and is a fact. In '96 the band releases the debut album Beautiful Freak. A melancholy record on which the tormented E come fully into their own.
Not much later, E's sister commits suicide and his mother falls ill. In response, '98 EELS' most depressing album 'Electro-Shock Blues' appears. In the late 1990s, the band's tour is canceled when E's mother dies. In 2001 the album Souljacker is released. The band makes a big leap compared to the previous albums. In 2003 the album Shootenanny!, on which various guest artists can be heard. The thirteenth album, Earth To Dora, was released in 2020. A relatively easy album with songs that can be described as vintage Eels. The fourteenth studio album, Extreme Witchcraft, markst the first collboration with John Parish since 2001.
