La Fouine (Laouni Mouhid) is a leading French rapper from Trappes, a suburb of Paris. Since the early 2000s, he has become a fixture in French-language hip hop, known for his direct style, personal lyrics and recognisable flow.
His debut album Bourré au son (2005) was followed by several successful releases, firmly establishing La Fouine's position in the scene. The album Mes Repères (2009) marked the peak of his career: it went double gold in France and featured some of his most iconic tracks.
