AN ALL-ENCOMPASSING AUDIOVISUAL EXPERIENCE AT FABRIQUE DES LUMIÈRES
On Thursday 19 November 2026, the music of Ludovico Einaudi will fill Fabrique des Lumières during a special Stellae lying-down concert.
Pianist Bernd van den Bos will perform a programme centred around Einaudi’s album Underwater on a concert grand piano. Meanwhile, the exhibition The Sea will fill the monumental hall of the former Westergasfabriek with towering underwater images.
Lying on your own mat or air mattress, you will be surrounded by live piano music, moving images and the world beneath the water’s surface. Glowing jellyfish, turtles, orcas and other ocean creatures appear on the walls and floor. The projections move throughout the entire space, creating a constantly changing backdrop for the music.
With Underwater, Einaudi returned to the basics: the piano. The album consists of contemplative compositions in which melody, repetition and silence alternate. During this concert, Underwater forms the basis of a programme in which his piano music and the images of The Sea come together.
