Jayceon Terrell Taylor was born in Compton on November 29, 1979. He was given the name The Game by his grandmother. She called him that because he was up for anything. He grew up in Compton, the birthplace of gangsta rap. After he got kicked out of his home, he was found his way into crime. His half-brother Big Fase 100 brought him in the Bloods gang and taught him how to survive on the streets. He became involved in a shooting when a drug deal turned into a rip deal. He was hit five times and ended up in a coma. When he woke up from the coma, he decided to change his life dramatically. Inspired by the greatest rappers, he created his debutalbum The Documentary under the guidance of Dr. Dre.
He got a contract at the record label Aftermah Entertainment and immediately scored hits with How We Do, Hate It Or Love It and Put you on the game. Other rappers such as Eminem, Nate Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige also contributed to this album
Game released his second album Doctor's Advocate in 2006. The album was also well received, debuting at number 1 on the US album chart by selling 365.000 in its first week. His third album LAX was released in 2008 and his fourth album The R.E.D. Album in 2011. On the last album features Timbaland, Pharrell, Chris Brown and Akon, among others.
