When he was just 15 years old, Lieven made his very first films—charming animated shorts that you have likely never seen: Fantasieporselein and De Vlammetjes. He graduated as a laureate from the Narafi film school in 1991 with his final project (Het Bankje), and his first collaboration with Dora van der Groen (Leonie) won the Jury Prize in the official competition selection in Cannes. Lieven introduces the films and shares anecdotes. You will already see where the foundation for his first feature film Pauline en Paulette was laid.
