In the performance ‘Coming Home Again’, the band Bark takes the audience on a musical journey through the history of the American Deep South in the 19th century.
We follow Paddy, a twelve-year-old Irish boy who flees the famines in his homeland and ends up in the United States.
We see how Paddy becomes caught up in the American Civil War and finds himself in Charleston, Georgia.
We travel with Paddy through the Smoky Mountains, past Memphis, Tennessee, and on to the Mississippi Delta. Through their own original songs, Bark tells the stories of Paddy and his fellow travelers.
From the Cherokee people to the first female lighthouse keeper, and from plantation owner to Irish peat cutter.
