After a series of sold-out performances and an enthusiastically received Dutch tour (with an average audience rating of 9.3!), Chanson will cross the border in the spring of 2027 for a major tour of Germany. Starting in the fall of 2027, this beloved theater production will return to Dutch theaters.

In a beautifully designed theater set, with atmospheric lighting and impressive video projections, top vocalists and a grand live orchestra pay a passionate tribute to the French chanson.

Filip Jordens (as Jacques Brel), Dan Menasche (Charles Aznavour), Janneke Elisabeth (Édith Piaf), and host-director Marc Forno bring the emotion, passion, and poetry of world-famous classics such as “Ne me quitte pas,” “La Bohème,” “Milord,” “Amsterdam,” and “La Vie en Rose” to life like never before.

For one evening, the theater transforms into the legendary L’Olympia in Paris. The atmosphere of the French capital is almost palpable. Janneke Elisabeth, Filip Jordens, and Dan Menasche slip into the roles of these iconic chansonniers with astonishing conviction and perform their repertoire with unprecedented intensity. The original arrangements are performed by an impressive 14-piece orchestra conducted by Hans Voerman, featuring accordion, horns, strings, and a rich, authentic sound that does full justice to the French chanson.

As a charming guide, Marc Forno, a former dancer at the Folies Bergère, takes the audience on a vibrant stroll through the streets of Paris. With personal stories, humor, and a cinematic collage of atmospheric black-and-white images, he connects the music to the rich history of the chanson and the city where these timeless songs originated.
